Short Term:

There is a growing movement in the veterinary community to instruct clients in hospice care for their senior animal family members. We know how much humans love their beloved companions! But what about the homeless dogs and cats with terminal illness living their final days in a rescue facility? Many have lived much of their life in a cage or in a shelter, not knowing the love of a family or the comfort of a warm bed in a home. Others are left by people who cannot or will not care for them during their final months on earth. We will build a companion animal hospice for these creatures to enjoy the comfort of holistic care and the environment of a real home. This is not a place for extensive veterinary treatments, but a place where we will eliminate suffering and bring them much comfort and love during their transition from the physical world to the "Rainbow Bridge" where all animals and their beloved humans cross to live in eternity.

Included will be a surgical and rehab facility for those dogs and cats that require expensive procedures due to severe abuse and/or neglect. They will be brought to Clyde's Sanctuary, for whatever treatment/rehab is required, and then returned in excellent health to a shelter for adoption.

Clyde has always loved children and did not want those homeless terminally ill children, like their animal counterparts, to spend their last days on earth alone and without a loving family. Future plans include building a children's wing as well. Not to administer medical treatments, but to alleviate suffering, bring comfort and a whole lot of love with holistic care and the company of animals and human volunteers. These volunteer "Therapy Humans" will come and sit with the children and animals during their last days and share these final moments together, creating a supportive environment of animals and humans caring for each other.

Long Term:

We will build The Clyde House in as many major cities in the United States and Canada as possible! Volunteers that help animals have hearts of gold and are an unlimited source of love not ever leaving behind or forgetting those creatures in need. But shelters are limited in space and resources. By providing a place for these "unadoptable" dogs and cats much needed shelter space is made available for rescuing more animals.

Homeless children make up the largest percentage of homeless in this country. There are approximately 800,000 homeless children on any given day in America. Many facilities do not want to take in homeless people with illness as many times they come with other problems. Where can a terminally ill child with no family and no home go for help? The Clyde House will be that place. A center where these homeless youth and animals will comfort and help each other in their final days.

Therapy Humans:

You are familiar with "Therapy Dogs" that go to sit with the elderly, sick children, hospitals and other facilities to bring comfort to those who are suffering with illness and/or old age. These creatures bring incredible joy into the lives of the humans they visit. We have read stories of autistic children who began speaking for the first time when in the company of a loving canine. Animal training programs in Correctional Facilities help rehabilitate inmates.

The Human - Animal Bond is a very special and embracing experience. We are inviting humans to come and experience that bond. They assist the animals and children as so many animals have assisted humans throughout the ages.

Each facility will have living quarters where "Therapy Humans" will come and sit with these vulnerable beings. Not only will these humans bring comfort to the children and animals, but will receive something very special in return. This will be a heart centered healing center, where the veils between the physical and spirit world will drop. The humans that sit in this environment will experience the one life that exists within us all, Divine love, the infinite source of creation. For in passing, these beings, like all of us, are not really dying, but making a transition into another place where we are all one with eternity. Children and animals can bring that light into our physical world in their final days.
